Health Assistant Instructor (CIP Code 51.0899)
The deadline for this posting is February 6th, however resumes will continue to be accepted until suitable candidates are found. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible, ideally around March 2nd. The starting salary range is roughly $45,000 to $55,000 based on industry experience, teaching experience, and/or level of education. You must have or be willing to obtain Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 Clearances. The successful candidate must be willing to earn a Career and Technical Instructional II teaching certificate and pass an Occupational Competency Assessment as required by PDE.
Position Description:
The Health Assistant Instructor is responsible for developing and implementing an instructional program focusing on preparing students for entry-level employment in the health occupations and will support the Pennsylvania Occupational Standards (POS) for CIP Code 51.0899. Instruction consists of core course content with clinical experiences in health-related occupations. Instruction includes but is not limited to basic anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, legal and ethical aspects of health care and communication.
Position Requirements:
Candidates who have a current license as a certified health care professional (RN, LPN, or any other field that requires the minimum of a bachelor’s degree) and meet one the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
1. Have a minimum of 4 years of wage-earning industry experience in their field of practice with a willingness to obtain the Vocational Certification in Education.
- OR -
2. Possess a Career and Technical Instructional II Teaching certification in Health Assistant CIP Code 51.0899.
Other Items to Note:
· Experience working with high school students and teaching in a CTE environment are preferred.
· Interested candidates are highly encouraged to review Pennsylvania’s Occupational Assessment Competency Manual to review the education and certification requirements that may be necessary for this position.
