Job Description

We are partnering with a local HVAC and mechanical contractor based in Honolulu, HI, to identify an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join their team.

The Role

The HVAC Project Manager will oversee HVAC projects from award through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements. This role works closely with estimators, engineers, field supervisors, and clients to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC projects from contract award through closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
• Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors
• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Manage change orders, RFIs, and submittals
• Track job costs, forecast project performance, and report on progress
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and local codes
• Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and internal teams
• Support project closeout, documentation, and turnover

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in HVAC or mechanical construction
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, construction methods, and project workflows
• Experience managing commercial HVAC projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with project management software and Excel
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Experience

• Background in HVAC estimating, field supervision, or engineering
• Knowledge of local building codes and permitting requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred, not required)
• Experience working with design-build and negotiated projects
